NC rural infrastructure grants trigger $200M in private investment, hundreds of jobs | WRAL TechWire

RALEIGH – More than $200 million in private investment along with hundreds of jobs are coming to areas outside North Carolina major metros thanks to nearly $4.3 million in grants through the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority

The RIA recently approved 15 grant requests to local governments, leading to the private sector commitments, Governor Roy Cooper announced Thursday.

Some 526 jobs will be created, the RIA said,

“When North Carolina’s rural communities succeed so does our whole state,” Cooper said in a statement. “These grants will stimulate more economic growth in rural North Carolina by improving buildings and other infrastructure to facilitate the creation of good jobs.”
