PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- Orange City Schools Superintendent Lynn Campbell has issued a statement indicating that the Orange Board of Education will not create a policy that would allow staff members to carry firearms in school.

The statement, sent to district families Tuesday evening (June 14), was in response to Gov. Mike DeWine signing House Bill 99 into law Monday (June 13). The law allows teachers and other staff members in Ohio to carry guns in schools after only 24 hours of training.
