A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for the funeral of a man in the area called the "Tree Man".

Charlie Maddox (Charlie Maddox) used to zoom and fell 40 feet tall trees while working at Vidor, and died on Monday in a career-related tragedy.

His daughter Crystal Maddox called her father "great" and said that he always made sure that others were happy.

"He likes people, he likes to be with people," Crystal Maddox said. "If someone needs it, he will take the last penny from his pocket and take the shirt out of his back."

His daughter said that he does not fish or hunt, but likes to be with his family and people he considers to be family. He also likes racing and used to go to the tow belt in Evadale.

When Crystal was a child, her father restored Ranchero in 1958. She remembered it was Copenhagen Blue.

She added that he was also a Vietnam War veteran.

Thomas Edgerly is the owner of Edwards Tree Trimming and Landscaping in the Netherlands and has known and worked with Maddox for many years.

He described Maddox as a man who does what he says, respects others, is knowledgeable and full of faith. He said that he treated him more like a partner than paid his hourly salary. He said that safety is the first in their philosophy.

Crystal Maddox said they plan to hold a military-themed funeral later this week.

GoFundMe has been established to help families pay for funeral expenses. It can be found by clicking here.
