Meet Darren Ismay. Although you may not recognize his face, if you bought a refurbished woodworking machine from TM Machinery in the past five years, you will definitely experience his work firsthand.

A self-proclaimed motorcycle enthusiast and former racer, with decades of work experience in manufacturing and electrical machinery, Darren joined TM Machinery in 2016 as an internal engineer, responsible for coordinating all mechanical transportation in and out of the warehouse and refurbishing a wide range of second-hand The scope of machinery. In the past six months, Darren has completed his level 3 apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified engineer.

"Refurbishing machines is an important part of my work and an area that I am proud of," said Darren, 50. "I'm currently processing five machines, and each machine needs to be refurbished to varying degrees. It's my job to make them look and work like new.

"Each machine is thoroughly cleaned before disassembly, repaired and replaced with parts. Then the machine is set up and fully tested before being shipped to a new home. Nothing is the same. I really like it-it keeps me alert . You also need to be a real problem solver, handling each project in a different way, and paying attention to details to get the job done."

Darren admits that he knows the machine he uses very well—he can even detect some faults through the sound of the motor—but this is where his technical ability and passion for the industry shine. This is not only Darren's job, but also his hobby. This person maintains and prepares bicycles for racing events on weekends and rebuilds models dating back to the 1970s. "This job suits me very well," Darren said, for obvious reasons.

His most recent qualifications are based on his existing skills, including technical drawing, electrical testing, pneumatics, hydraulics, and engineer advanced mathematics assessments. "It's been more than 30 years since I walked into the classroom last time, but it was a great experience," Darren admitted. "This is always a challenge, but my enthusiasm and experience working at TM have made a huge contribution to my development. It feels very good to work for a company that wants to invest in employees and value the work we do. Thanks to TM Machinery, I am now able to complete the on-site mechanical installation and provide on-site maintenance and repairs to our customers, while continuing to refurbish the machinery. I get great job satisfaction from my work, and knowing that there is a great team around me really increases To this point."
