From May 18th to 20th, 2022, SCM invited to innovation days in its technology center in Nürtingen.The Italian machine manufacturer presented various innovations to customers from the entire DACH region and celebrated its 70th anniversary.Technologically, the spectrum ranged from furniture production to the processing of windows, stairs and solid wood elements to new digital technologies for carpentry machines.The following highlights were particularly in focus:In 2021, the SCM Group recorded a turnover of 750 million euros and an order intake of 900 million euros, of which more than 100 million euros were attributable to engineering projects.The figures for the SCM Wood division were also positive.After an increase in sales of 10% in 2019 and 22% in 2020, a substantial increase in sales is expected again in 2021, especially for the DACH market.The aim is to further expand the market share with a strategic plan that strengthens the synergies between the three directly managed SCM subsidiaries in Germany (Nürtingen), Austria (Ansfelden) and Switzerland (Lucerne) and an integrated management of all customer care activities provided, whereby the special features of the individual markets are to be preserved.SCM continues to prioritize digital transformation, technological innovation and the strengthening of production centers in Italy.During the press conference held as part of the Innovation Days, some new products were also announced that SCM will be presenting in Rimini from June 29th to July 1st - including a Windorflex machining cell for window and door frames or the new fully automated Autostore spare parts warehouse, which will be used in the frame the extensive expansion and modernization of the production area in Rimini.In addition, SCM intends to continue to invest heavily, for example in the timber construction systems Oikos and Area and the recently concluded commercial agreement with the Swedish company Randek.This enables SCM to offer a wide range of solutions for beams, walls, frame walls and X-lam/CLT panels.(mm)Sign up for the newsletter Subscribe to BM
